Tribute Bands for weddings
As with other kinds of bands, if you decide to book a tribute band,you should make sure they have as much universal appeal as possible. For instance, a tribute to, say, Prince, might not be the best choice for the wide range of guests that you will invite. Whereas Abba tribute bands are popular with lots of different people or The Beatles or The Blues Brothers are classic mainstream dance music styles - there are many others. You should look for a balance between your musical taste, your theme and your guests tastes.

Your first dance at the wedding reception
You should try and think of something that you and your other half can dance to and is not too fast. The song should be something with a special meaning to you. Don't choose a song which you will look awkward or funny when dancing. Some couples event learn a choreographed dance routine just for the occasion. This might be a song you listened to when you first met,or when he proposed or simply a song with lyrics which closely express your feelings. Make the most of your wedding band and musicians
Make the best use of the wonderful musicians at your disposal. Most bands will perform 3 x 45 minute sets of music and some will offer 2 x 60 minute sets. Often the band will offer to play recorded music in their breaks through sound sytem. Some even have a sound engineer or technician who is also an expert DJ. Tribute bands tend to perform for one set straight through - probably 75 minutes although some can perform 2 x 45 minute sets. Your music booking agent will sometimes be able to negotiate one or two musicians from the band to provide your background music for your drinks reception or meal or may sometimes be able to arrange sharing of equipment between DJ and band saving you costs and space in the venue.
